Farm Fresh Food: June 11th

My work has a weekly Farmer’s Market every Tuesday. There is only one farm so the selection varies a lot each week. Whatever is fresh and got picked that day, is what gets sold. The photo above is of a basket of baby squash I got. Sauted with a little butter, olive oil and salt, they taste amazing! Here is my haul from June 11th:


There Cherries are so fresh and good, that only 1/2 the basket made it home. I ate the other half at work!

These are baby onions. They are a lot sweeter than full grown onions, I think onions pungent flavor fully develops later on. The greens are also similar to Spring Onions. Actually I would guess that Spring onions are just REALLY young onions.

I am not sure if peaches are quite in their prime yet, but they looked so good that I had to give them a try!
